Dr. Sophie Godbout-Beaulieu

Psychologist and Co-Founder of the Colibri Centre

Dr. Sophie Godbout-Beaulieu is a clinical psychologist working primarily with children, adolescents, their parents and young adults. In her practice, she aims to translate scientific knowledge into simple and effective strategies and to help her clients practice them in times of need.

Dr. Sophie values compassion and collaboration with her clients first and foremost. Her clients often share her authenticity, her gentleness and her down-to-earth approach. It offers therapy, assessment, and consultation services. Her particular areas of interest include anxiety, managing emotions and behaviors, assessing challenges related to academic functioning (e.g., attention, learning), and presenting workshops to members of her community.

She completed her doctorate in clinical psychology (PhD) at the University of Ottawa in 2015. She has worked and completed internships in a variety of settings, such as the IWK, the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board, and various private practice settings. She is actively pursuing professional training opportunities in order to keep up to date in order to better be able to help you.

Her childhood dream was to become a clown... This dream has changed over time, but she has retained the dream of connecting with people and the desire to contribute to the happiness of the people around her.

Dr. Marielle Purdy

Psychologist/Neuropsychologist and Co-Founder of the Colibri Centre

Dr. Marielle Purdy is a clinical psychologist and neuropsychologist. She works with children, adolescents and their families and is distinguished by her warm and accessible approach. Based on rigorous scientific knowledge, she offers individualized and effective support.

In her daily practice, Dr. Marielle values empathy, collaboration and sometimes even humor, allowing young people and parents to feel comfortable and understood, while being supported. She offers assessments, therapy and consultation services. Her clinical interests focus more particularly on challenges related to school development and functioning (attention, learning, motor coordination, etc.), anxiety and emotional management.

She completed her Bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Moncton and her doctorate in clinical psychology (PhD & PsyD) at the Université du Quebec à Montreal. She also obtained the certificate for the evaluation of neuropsychological disorders from the Order of Psychologists of Quebec, granting her the title of neuropsychologist. She has had the opportunity to work in several different settings, such as the Montreal Children's Hospital, in an outpatient child psychiatry clinic, as well as several private practice settings. She continues to strengthen her knowledge and to keep up to date through professional training. These rich and diverse experiences allow her to support everyone's personal journey.

Dr. Vanessa Hyslop

Psychologist

Dr. Vanessa Hyslop works with children, adolescents, and their families. She provides individual psychotherapy and psychological assessments for children and adolescents, along with consultations for parents.

Throughout her training and professional career, she has worked with a broad range of clinical concerns, including anxiety and mood disorders, as well as social, behavioral, emotional, and adjustment challenges, along with parenting-related concerns. She firmly believes that caregivers play a vital role in supporting and empowering young people, and she strives to involve them in the therapeutic process whenever possible. Moreover, she is particularly passionate about neurodevelopmental disorders and is dedicated to fostering greater awareness and appreciation of neurodiversity.

Her clinical work is grounded in evidence-based practices, drawing on cognitive-behavioral therapy, humanistic approaches, and emotion-focused techniques. Above all, she is committed to creating a safe and trusting therapeutic environment through an empathetic, authentic, and non-judgmental presence.

She earned her Bachelor of Science with a specialization in psychology from the University of Ottawa before returning to her hometown in southeastern New Brunswick to pursue a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Université de Moncton.

Dr. Marilou Larocque

Psychologist

Dr. Marilou Larocque is a psychologist offering part-time psychological assessment services for children and adolescents at the  Colibri Centre.

Believing that each path is unique, Dr. Marilou considers a thorough clinical understanding essential to identifying the most helpful interventions, tailored to each child’s individual profile and grounded in scientific evidence. She adopts a simple, collaborative, compassionate, and down-to-earth approach. Through her assessments, her goal is to help young people and their families better understand themselves, put words to their experiences, and find tools and strategies that meet their needs.

In her main full-time role, Dr. Marilou works as a school psychologist with the Francophone South School District. Her daily work in the school environment immerses her in the realities of children and allows her to deepen her understanding of their needs.

In addition, through her clinical placements, internship, and early years of practice, she has gained diverse experiences in school, university, hospital, and community mental health settings. Dr. Marilou completed her Doctor of Psychology (Psy. D.) in 2024 at the Université de Moncton and subsequently obtained her psychologist license in New Brunswick in 2025.

Dr. Adèle Belliveau

Psychology Resident under the supervision of Dr. Godbout-Beaulieu and Dr. Purdy

Dr. Adèle Belliveau is a psychology resident who works with children, adolescents, and their families, working under the supervision of Dr. Godbout-Beaulieu and Dr. Purdy. Starting at the end of summer 2026, she will provide individual psychotherapy, psychological assessment services, and parent consultations. Se prioritizes a human, collaborative, and individualized approach tailored to each young person’s needs.

In her practice, Dr. Belliveau places great importance on the therapeutic relationship and strives to create an atmosphere of trust, safety, and collaboration. She aims to offer a space where young people can express themselves freely, explore their emotions, develop a better understanding of themselves, and acquire practical tools to cope with the challenges they face. Her clinical approach integrates various evidence-based methods, including cognitive-behavioural therapy, humanistic approaches, and emotion-focused approaches. Passionate about creating therapeutic tools, she enjoys designing personalized activities and interventions that take into account each young person’s interests, strengths, and developmental level.

She has a particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders, anxiety, emotional and relational difficulties, as well as the overall well-being of children and adolescents. Her practice is distinguished by a warm, creative, and authentic approach aimed at supporting young people and their families with kindness, curiosity, and without judgment. Dr. Belliveau completed her Bachelor of Arts with a specialization in Psychology, as well as her professional doctorate in psychology, at the Université de Moncton.
